01Who we are

Institute Krav Maga Ireland (also trading as Institute Krav Maga Cork) is operated by Artur Dziadkowiec, Unit 3, Deanrock Business & Technology Park, Togher, Cork T12 V889, Ireland. VAT number IE3311934Q. Email: info@institutekravmaga.ie.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Institute Krav Maga Ireland. "You" means the member, student, parent or guardian, or visitor using our services.

02Acceptance of these terms

These terms apply when you buy a membership, seminar, camp, private session or other service from us, or take part in any class or training activity. Please read them before you buy.

When you pay online (for example through Stripe or GoCardless) you will be asked to tick a box to confirm you have read and accept these terms. This applies to the person paying and to any participant they enrol, including a child.

03Changes to these terms and prices

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website applies to new purchases. If we make an important change that affects existing members, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.

We may change membership prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect without the usual notice period.

04Memberships

All memberships are monthly rolling memberships with no minimum term. Your membership starts on the date you sign up and renews automatically each month using the payment method you provided, until you cancel.

Memberships are personal and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

0514-day cooling-off period (online purchases)

If you buy a membership online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of signing up without giving a reason.

If you ask us to start your membership straight away and you attend classes during those 14 days, then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the period you have already used.

To cancel within the cooling-off period, email info@institutekravmaga.ie. We will refund you within 14 days using the same payment method.

The cooling-off period does not apply to seminars, camps or other events held on a specific date. See the seminar and camp sections below.

06Cancelling your membership (adults, teens and kids)

After the cooling-off period, you can cancel at any time by giving 30 days' written notice by email to info@institutekravmaga.ie.

Your membership stays active for 30 days from the date we receive your email, and you (or your child) can keep attending classes during that time. One final monthly payment may be taken during the notice period.

We will reply to confirm we have received your cancellation. Please keep this confirmation. If you do not hear back within 3 working days, contact us again.

Cancellations must be made by email. We cannot accept cancellations in person, by phone or through social media messages, because we need a written record.

07Ages

Kids Martial Arts is for ages 6 to 10 and Teen Krav Maga is for ages 11 to 15. Students aged 16 or 17 may join adult classes with written consent from a parent or guardian. Adult classes are otherwise for ages 18 and over.

08Pausing your membership

You can ask to pause your membership for up to two months, for example because of injury, illness or extended travel. Requests must be made by email at least 48 hours before your next payment date. Pauses cannot be backdated and are approved at our discretion.

09Kids and Teens summer break

Kids and Teens classes do not run in July and August. Kids and Teens memberships are paused automatically for this period, no payments are taken, and they resume with the first class in September.

10Payments and billing

When you buy a membership or service, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method for the fees that apply. For memberships, you authorise automatic monthly payments until your membership is cancelled under these terms.

If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us first at info@institutekravmaga.ie so we can try to sort it out quickly. This does not affect your legal rights.

11Failed payments

If a payment fails or is declined, our payment provider will try again automatically. We may also contact you by email, text or WhatsApp. Please update your payment details as soon as possible.

We may suspend access to classes until an outstanding payment is paid. If a payment remains unpaid, we may cancel the membership. Any amount owed for the period before cancellation remains payable.

12Free trial class

New students can book one free trial class, in advance. Only one free trial is allowed per person. If a trial booking is missed or cancelled, we are not obliged to offer another free trial. Trial participants must follow these terms, including the health and safety rules.

13Private training

Private sessions must be booked in advance. Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, may be charged in full or deducted from your package.

Any package or bulk-booking terms (such as how long the sessions are valid for) will be confirmed to you in writing when you buy.

14Women's Self-Defence seminars

Seminars require a deposit to secure your place, with the balance paid on the day. Because seminars take place on a specific date, the 14-day cooling-off period does not apply and deposits are non-refundable.

If you cannot attend, you can ask to transfer your place to a future seminar date, subject to availability. If you do not attend without notice, your deposit or payment is forfeited.

If we need to cancel a seminar, we will offer you a place on another date or a full refund of what you paid.

15Teen Self-Defence Summer Camp

A deposit is required to secure a place. Because camps take place on specific dates, the cooling-off period does not apply and deposits are non-refundable. No refunds are given for missed sessions.

We may remove a participant whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or disrespectful, and no refund is given in that case. If we need to cancel the camp, we will refund what you paid.

16Holidays and class cancellations

Classes do not run on public or bank holidays. We normally close for a short break over Christmas and New Year; dates are shared with members in advance.

Occasionally a class may be cancelled because of instructor illness, severe weather, maintenance or other circumstances beyond our control. Where possible we will offer an alternative class. Refunds are not given for occasional class cancellations.

17Health and fitness to train

Krav Maga is a physical, contact activity. Before your first class, and whenever anything changes, you must tell your instructor about any injury, medical condition, pregnancy or physical limitation that could affect your training. If you are unsure whether you are fit to train, please check with your doctor first.

Instructors may adapt or stop an exercise, or ask a student not to train, if they believe it is unsafe.

18Additional needs

Our classes are group classes and our instructors are not trained or qualified to provide specialist support for additional needs such as autism or ADHD. Before enrolling, please tell us about any additional needs so we can talk together, honestly, about whether our classes can safely meet them.

Where we cannot provide a safe and suitable class, we may decline an enrolment or end a membership, and any payment for future classes will be refunded.

19Risk of injury

Martial arts training carries a risk of injury. By taking part you accept the normal risks of this activity and agree to follow all safety instructions, use any safety equipment provided and train with control.

20Code of conduct and right to refuse training

Students must treat instructors and fellow students with respect, follow safety instructions and train with control. Unsafe behaviour, excessive force, bad language or disrespectful conduct may lead to removal from a class or the end of a membership.

We may refuse training or end a membership if a student's behaviour puts others at risk or is seriously or repeatedly inappropriate. No refund is given for a membership ended because of misconduct.

21Child protection and supervision

The safety and wellbeing of children is our priority. Our instructors are Garda vetted and we follow the procedures set out in our Child Safeguarding Statement. Any concern about a child's welfare should be reported immediately to our designated Child Protection Officer via info@institutekravmaga.ie.

Instructors supervise children only during the scheduled class. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children before and after class, and must collect them promptly.

22Photos and video

We sometimes take photos or videos during classes and events. We will only use photos or videos in which you can be identified on our website, social media or marketing with your consent, and for anyone under 18, with the consent of a parent or guardian. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using the images in new material.

23Personal belongings

You are responsible for your own belongings. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items, except where caused by our negligence.

24Our liability

We take reasonable care to provide safe, well-run training. We are not liable for injury or loss that results from the normal risks of martial arts training, from your failure to follow instructions or these terms, or from events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

25Payment providers

Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe and GoCardless, whose own terms also apply. We do not store your full card details.

26Your personal data

We use your personal data to run your membership, take payments, keep you safe and contact you about your training, in line with data protection law. You can ask us for a copy of your data or ask us to correct or delete it by emailing info@institutekravmaga.ie.
